Another holiday, another blown deadline. So here's a short stack of reviews that are barely appropriate.
Zero Dark Thirty
The World At War, Episode 13
The Hurt Locker
and
City of Life and Death
Gallipoli
AMC is showing "The Longest Day". The movie is a bit dated, and very long, but most of the battle scenes are good to very good and the acting generally fine. Still highly suggested.
This segment at the village of Oustreham are some of the best dramatic battle scenes ever made. The opening 1:44 is one continous shot. Helicopter? I don't know how they did it.
Some kind person has put all 7 minutes on Youtube. Highly recommended.
